If you’re taking an African safari tour, you may want to pack fairly light, although there are some ‘must take’ items. Of course, your phone and charger are essential to take photos, although many people also take a good camera to capture the wildlife. A spare pair of prescription glasses is a good idea to take, along with spare sunglasses. A packet of wet wipes can be useful in all sorts of situations, such as wiping your face and hands, and even substituting for toilet paper. It can be surprisingly cool during the evening, and a lightweight sweater or jacket that’s easy to fold should be in your luggage. Sunscreen, after-sun cream, mosquito repellant and a light but wide brimmed hat should be considered essentials. Finally, don’t forget to bring some photos or postcards from home, which can be wonderful conversation starter.
