The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding to people eligible for support based on their specific requirements. The types of NDIS support offered includes:
• Help with daily personal tasks
• Transport to help people participate in community, social, employment and other daily life activities
• Support in the workplace to help participants get or keep employment either in the open market or in the supported labour market
• Therapy for various needs including behavioural support
• Assistance with household tasks that help people maintain their home environment
• Skilled personnel to help with assessing equipment required by people because of their disability and where, necessary, to install it and provide training in its use
• Provide assistance with home modifications, including their design and construction to meet participants’ special needs
• Mobility equipment and, where required, modifications to support its use in cars
