What Is Hosted VOIP?

The Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a means by which telephony can be delivered through the internet. It converts analog voice calls into digital form and transmits them over the internet like any other data. Hosted VoIP allows a business to use a third-party provider to provide the enabling technology for VoIP without having to go through the technical issues of installing and maintain the required computers and servers themselves.

VoIP provides a wide range of benefits and many small businesses have turned to the technology for their telephony needs. The technology implements an internal PABX system which allows a business to save money on the number of outside lines it needs as well as enjoying the benefits a PABX provides such as conference calls, auto pick-up and rerouting of calls, call analytics, find-me follow-me feature and voicemail to email function among many others.
