Tahini Pesto: A Quick, Easy Recipe

It’s tahini pesto time! This simple yet powerful sauce is an excellent addition to any dish. The tahini gives the fresh basil a creamy texture that pairs perfectly with the bright flavors of lemon and garlic. Tahini is made from sesame seeds that have been ground into a butter-like consistency. It can be found in many grocery stores near other nut butters or in health food stores where you would find tahinis, peanut butters, etc.

This recipe will make enough tahini pesto for two people:

1) Add tahini, garlic cloves (minced), lemon juice, and salt to a food processor.
2) While the food processor is running, slowly add in water until a smooth consistency has been reached.
3) To the tahini pesto, add in fresh basil leaves.

This tahini pesto can be spread on sandwiches or as a dipping sauce for breadsticks. It also pairs well with pasta and vegetables such as zucchini noodles or roasted Brussels sprouts!
